Thinking about “How to stand out in business?”
This post was originally just for my Facebook page, but it was too good to just leave over there (on someone else’s website) so I had to post it here. If you want to know how you can stand out and get noticed then listen up:
Show up every time and engage.
Literally, that is all you have to do in order to get noticed, well, that and provide valuable information – don’t sell, sell, sell. Instead, give, give, give.
Perfect example right here: I showed up to every live broadcast Nicole Walters had when she started out on Periscope. I made sure to engage with her and provide value in the comments – connecting with her audience as well. I didn’t stop there though. I made sure to connect with Nicole on her other platforms too!
Perfect example: When I started out I showed up to every live broadcast Nicole Walters had when she started out on Periscope. I made sure to engage with her and provide value in the comments – connecting with her audience as well. I shared my knowledge and engaged with everyone one. I did this for several months. I still laugh about the times when my notification for Nicole popped up and I was at my 9 to 5. I literally would run to the bathroom or go find a corner where I could tune in for even just a few minutes.
My coworkers and customers probably thought I had a bathroom problem – for the record I don’t, ha!
I didn’t stop there though. I made sure to connect with Nicole on her other platforms too! I followed and engaged with her on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Yes, it was a lot of work and yes, it took time – it’s not something that happens overnight. In order to build something great, you have to pour a lot of time and money into it. Tweet that would you 😉
I built that relationship over time, not overnight.

Another recent example, I am in Caitlin Bacher Facebook group and when she would go live in the group I showed up! I engaged! Guess what now, several months later when I haven’t been as active in the group, she remembered me – I was shocked! I tagged her on one of my personal posts letting her know about the release of my podcast just to show her what I’ve been up to (vs. spamming her group with a self-promo post). To my surprise you not only commented on my post, she shared it inside her group. If that wasn’t enough, she even shared with me that I was one of very few that would show up and comment on her Facebook lives.
The examples don’t stop there. I have more I could share but I think you get the picture here and now you know what you need to do in order to get noticed online. Share any tips you have in the comments below.
People, especially influencers, will notice you if you are willing to show up, engage, and build that relationship. ?
