Imagine walking into work and the first thing you did was dim the lights, relaxed, and let your mind be free.

Now imagine doing this twice a day and making it a part of your daily routine.

I was reading the local paper today, ok if I’m being honest I saw the post on Facebook and then read this article on the Press Democrat’s (my local paper) website. The article was about the local middle school implementing a new “Mindfulness Program” in the school and the impact it’s having. I’ll let you read the article in full but check out what the principal had to say about the results of this new program:

Suspensions are down, and fewer kids are getting into trouble — improvements he credits partly to the sessions. Discipline referrals decreased by 35 percent, compared to this time last year, he said. Meanwhile, grades are up. Students who last year received Ds and Fs on their report cards now are getting As, Bs and Cs.” – Pollack

Take this “Mindfulness” program and apply it to your business.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. You pick a time, set a timer, dim the lights, and relax. Repeat this twice a day for a week or two and it will become part of your daily routine. Just like when I cut out social media in the mornings. I started one day (on a Monday) and said no social media before 10 am so I could work and not be distracted. It worked out so well that I repeated that for a solid week and now it’s part of my daily routine Monday through Friday.

Let me know below if you’re going to try this or if you’re already doing this.
